우리 사업회는 2021년 2월 1일 미얀마 군부의 쿠데타 선언에 대하여 다음과 같이 논평한다. 

지난 2020년 11월 8일에 치러진 미얀마 총선 결과에 대한 미얀마 군부의 부정선거 의혹 제기에 선거감시단과 국제사회는 우려를 표명한 바 있다. 

선거 과정에 문제가 있었다면 이는 미얀마 헌법이 정한 절차에 따라 조사되어야 한다. 미얀마 군부는 ‘비상사태’ 선포를 철회하고 아웅산 수찌(Aung San Suu Kyi) 고문을 포함하여 불법적으로 구금한 인사를 즉시 석방해야 한다.

The election monitoring group and the international society have raised a grave concern over the military’s allegations of fraudulent voting, which was held on November 8, 2020.

If there has been a problem in the voting process, it should be investigated and resolved duly according to the Myanmar constitution.

The state of emergency, declared by the military, should be lifted and Aung San Suu kyi and other illegally-detained figures should be released immediately.
